At Chinexita, 2024 has been a year full of challenges and successes, marking a milestone in our mission to support Spanish companies in their international expansion. Throughout the year, we have managed and led a series of activities that have strengthened the presence of Spanish products in key markets in China, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. From creating unique experiences at international trade fairs to organizing exclusive events, we have worked tirelessly to continue opening doors and creating opportunities for our clients.

March: Continuing to Break Boundaries

In March, we had the honour of participating in FOODEX Tokyo, Japan’s most important food trade fair, where we collaborated with the Spanish Beef Interprofessional PROVACUNO and the Spanish Sheep and Goat Meat Interprofessional INTEROVIC in the design and construction of their stands. Throughout the fair, we established valuable contacts with Spanish food companies, working to consolidate and expand Spanish exports to Japan, a key market thanks to the EU-Japan Free Trade Agreement.

Furthermore, we celebrated a historic achievement: the value of Spanish wine exports to Japan reached a record high in 2023, a milestone that highlights the growing interest in our products in this market.

March: Monastrell Strengthens Its Presence in London

On 18th March, we organized a wine tasting and masterclass for the Monastrell Spain Association in London, showcasing the finest Monastrell wines from Denominations of Origin Jumilla, Yecla, Bullas, Almansa, and Alicante. Over 50 sommeliers and journalists from the UK enjoyed a presentation that positioned this variety as one of the most promising wines for the British market. Specialist media, such as The Drinks Business, covered the event, reaffirming the importance of Monastrell in the international wine scene.

April: Design and Construction at Prowine Singapore

In April, we were responsible for the design and construction of the Castilla y León stand at Prowine Singapore 2024. Our 126 m² stand hosted 14 wineries, providing visibility and creating an ideal environment for generating international business. In addition to constructing the stand, Chinexita took care of the entire service package, from assembly to transportation, as well as managing promotional materials and auxiliary staff, including interpreters and wine educators.

May: Success at SIAL Shanghai and Vinexpo Hong Kong

In May, we solidified our presence in Asia with two major successes at SIAL Shanghai 2024 and Vinexpo Hong Kong 2024. During these events, our stands served as a meeting point for companies from Castilla y León and their wines, offering an excellent platform for doing business and expanding their presence in these highly competitive markets. From the conceptualization of the design to space management, we achieved a prominent exhibition that met our clients’ expectations.

June and October: Monastrell Conquers the United Kingdom

We organized the participation of the Monastrell Spain Association at the “Best UK Sommelier –Villa Sandi Award, Graduation Ceremony and Walkaround Tasting 2024“, which selects and awards the best sommelier in the United Kingdom each year. Held at the iconic HABERDASHERS’ HALL in London, this event gathered numerous professionals from the wine sector, including sommeliers, educators, importers, buyers, and media. The Monastrell Spain Association’s participation provided a unique opportunity to promote and further expand the knowledge of the Monastrell variety in the UK.

In October, we organized a series of events for the Monastrell Spain Association in the United Kingdom, including two masterclasses and an exclusive tasting room. These activities, which took place in London and Manchester, were a resounding success, with active participation from importers, sommeliers, and industry professionals. These events significantly contributed to consolidating Monastrell as a key variety for the British market.

October: Extremadura’s Gastronomy Arrives in Beijing

On 13th October, we had the honour of organizing a gastronomic event in Beijing, in collaboration with Extremadura Avante and Food from Extremadura. During this event, we showcased the richness of Extremadura’s cuisine, with tastings of products such as Iberian ham and olive oil, accompanied by a unique cultural experience. The event generated great interest among Chinese importers and professionals, creating new opportunities for Extremadura’s agri-food products in the Chinese market.

Looking ahead to 2025: More achievements to come
